Cozy 4 person chalet in the Veluwe

This comfortable four-person lodge is located at Recreatiepark de Boshoek. For an active weekend away or a relaxing holiday, Recreatiepark De Boshoek on the Veluwe is the ideal destination for a holiday in the Netherlands. Recreation park De Boshoek is centrally located on the Veluwe near the town of Voorthuizen. The holiday park has a beautiful indoor swimming pool, a bowling alley, a panna cage and much more. There is really everything to do, you can also just stay in the park for a nice evening restaurant or equally delicious 'terraces'. Do you want to go into nature? no problem! You can cycle or walk straight into nature from the park. Wonderful park for young and old!

The lodges have a comfortable living room with TV and a cozy dining area. The kitchen is equipped with all conveniences such as: a four-burner stove, a refrigerator, a combi microwave and a Nespresso. There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with two single beds. There is also a bathroom with a shower, toilet and sink.

Outside, wonderful garden with terrace and garden furniture. Also, the property has one parking space.

Location and surroundings

Voorthuizen, Gelderland
Voorthuizen is a beautiful place in the midst of beautiful nature and also a fine place to stay for exploring the area. For example, Zeumeren is a beautiful lake where you can swim and where many water sports are also practiced. Think of surfing, pedal boats, water skiing and canoeing, but in winter you can also enjoy hiking and cycling in the area. Real fishing enthusiasts will enjoy the nearby Aanschotergat fishing lake. From Voorthuizen you can be in the National Park De Hoge Veluwe in the blink of an eye, where you can go cycling. Apeldoorn, where you can visit the Julianatoren amusement park or Het Loo Palace, is also close by, and in Voorthuizen itself there are many pleasant terraces and restaurants.

The email correspondence and payment went entirely to our satisfaction. The app is pleasant to use; only opening the door was something we didn't know the ropes about, but fortunately you have key cards. De Boshoek, the park is beautifully maintained, with many trash cans for things like dog poop. (In case things go wrong on the way to “outside the campsite.”) The planting and flowers are very beautiful. We didn't see any trash or dog poop anywhere. The space around the accommodation offers a lot of privacy. Our accommodation (106) was clean and everything you need was present. The kitchen inventory is very complete. Since we are not the youngest anymore—60+, slightly physically limited, and overweight—we found the space in the accommodation to be very small. The shower drain does not smell fresh. We had a small dog with us and we noticed that you don't get the “better” accommodation in that case. It is understandable in a way, because there are of course always people who let the dog do whatever it wants and make a mess of things. We do think this accommodation is suitable for young people, with two children and a dog. We noticed that the accommodation has a few flaws. A damaged floor here and there, for example by the bed, or insect screens that are almost impossible to close. An electrical outlet that is no longer securely attached, and the worst part for us was the seating comfort of the red sofa in the living room. If it is too cool to sit outside in the evening, it is nice—especially if you are not getting any younger—to sit inside in front of the TV or with a book on a sofa where you aren't sitting on a wooden slat. The space next to the bed by the window is also incredibly cramped. Perhaps a tip: if you rent out accommodations to customers with a small dog, it would be nice if the garden had a fence so that the dog doesn't have to be constantly tied up or kept under constant supervision. The surroundings of the park are diverse. Beautiful walking areas, nice towns to visit, Voorthuizen has nice shops/supermarkets, and above all, the staff at your park are customer-friendly (a pleasant welcome, especially for the dog) and helpful. They get a 10 from us! All in all, had a pleasant stay.

Very nice, too bad about the cold weather. The restaurant had good food and drinks, but it's a pity that they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays and have short opening hours for everything, so we had to eat and drink somewhere else. The cottage was good.
