Weerribben-Wieden National Park invites you to sail, paddleboard, and cycle along reed beds and waterways. Visit the water village of Giethoorn, discover the Frisian lakes, or take a trip to the fortified town of Steenwijk. A day trip to Blokzijl or a boat tour through the nature reserve are also possible. This charming house is a versatile base for lovers of peace, nature, and culture.

Location and surroundings
The surroundings of cosy Oldemarkt have plenty of surprises in store every season. You can cycle endlessly along the golden yellow reeds, vast meadows and over historical polder dykes. Enjoy carefree lazing or strolling through woods and heathland. Moreover, whisper boating is something unique that the Weerribben-Wieden area has a patent on. You can visit Kalenberg, a beautiful unspoilt water village, or the visitor centre in Ossenzijl, where you can see and hear how the otter has been reintroduced to the Weerribben area. A few kilometres away is Giethoorn, the 'Venice of the North' and the fortified town of Steenwijk.
