If you prefer shopping or culture, Makkum has a boulevard and historic village centre. Nearby, there are plenty of opportunities for walking and cycling along the nearby villages and across the Afsluitdijk. On the Afsluitdijk, the Afsluitdijk Wadden Center takes you on a journey through the past, present and future of the Wadden Sea.
