Kotten, Gelderland

Kotten is a hamlet in the municipality of Winterswijk, in the Gelderland Achterhoek region. This picturesque destination is ideal for those seeking peace and quiet and for nature lovers. The many cycling and walking routes in the area lead past beautiful spots and nature reserves. Near Kotten, the Italian Lakes are a special attraction. These flooded clay pits owe their name to the blue-green color of their water. The towns of Winterswijk and Doetinchem are nearby and are definitely worth a visit. In Winterswijk, the Steenquaeve (quarry) and Villa Mondriaan are recommended, while in Doetinchem, Slangenburg Castle, the Walmolen (walmill), and the Stadsmuseum (city museum) attract many visitors.

Wonderfully quiet park. The Boslodge had a great location with a view over the meadows. Enclosed by a wooden fence so my little dog could run around freely. The gas fireplace on the terrace is super cozy in the evening. Lovely seating/loungers on the terrace. Friendly and helpful staff.
