The many cycling and walking routes in the area lead past beautiful spots and nature reserves. Near Kotten, the Italian Lakes are a special attraction. These flooded clay pits owe their name to the blue-green color of their water. The towns of Winterswijk and Doetinchem are nearby and are definitely worth a visit. In Winterswijk, the Steenquaeve (quarry) and Villa Mondriaan are recommended, while in Doetinchem, Slangenburg Castle, the Walmolen (walmill), and the Stadsmuseum (city museum) attract many visitors.
