Beautiful 6 person cottage.
On a sunny location, close to the forest, estate Reestdal, our very attractive holiday home. Enjoy the nature and peace is our priority. No abundance of activities, but wonderfully cozy.
This is a modern recreational bungalow with thatched roof in a nostalgic farmhouse style. On the ground floor there is a spacious living room with a pellet stove, open kitchen, a bathroom, a toilet and a spacious double bedroom. The kitchen includes a filter coffee maker. On the floor is a second bedroom. This has two nostalgic box beds, both suitable for two adults. The house has a spacious garden with terrace. There is also parking for one car at the holiday home.

IJhorst, Overijssel
IJhorst is a village in the municipality of Staphorst, where the stork is a familiar sight. The Ooievaarscentrum De Lokkerij was established in 1981 on the initiative of the Nature Conservancy to bring the stork back to the Dutch landscape. With results: the number of breeding pairs is still increasing! De Lokkerij is open for visits during the summer months, definitely worth a visit. The surroundings are easy to explore by bike or on foot: you will discover the Reest valley, the Zwarte Dennen or the Staphorst forestry. Surrounding towns such as Zwolle, Meppel, Hoogeveen and Steenwijk are also recommended: here you can enjoy a terrace, a museum, the many shops or a cosy restaurant.

It's a beautiful and cozy cottage. We had a lovely week. However, we do have a few areas for improvement. For example, cushions on hard dining chairs, the toilet seat is loose, there's no cleaning kit (we found it later in the closet), awkward kitchen cabinets, and a light above the mirror. The lock on the garden door is far too heavy to close.
Het is een mooi en gezellig huisje. We hebben een leuke week gehad. Wel hebben we enige punten ter verbetering. Bijv. Kussentjes op harde eetstoelen, de wc bril zit los, geen schoonmaakpakket (vonden we later in de kast), onhandige keukenkastjes, lampje boven de spiegel. Het slot in de tuindeur gaat veel te zwaar dicht.

Overall, it's great! Only the kitchenware has seen better days, and the electric cooking is a bit of a challenge. You can't see which hob is hot, the markings around the knobs have faded, and it stays piping hot for a very long time.
Algeheel prima! Alleen het keukengerei heeft z'n beste tijd gehad, en het elektrisch koken is een dingetje, je kunt niet zien welke plaat heet is, de tekentjes rondom de knoppen zijn vervaagd, en het blijft heel lang gloeiend heet...

The house is a bit dated and needs better maintenance. The pans are in desperate need of replacement. The dishwasher doesn't clean properly; it's missing salt and rinse aid. The stove doesn't work well when using multiple burners. The heating in the bathroom isn't sufficient in winter.
Das Haus ist schon etwas in die Tage gekommen und sollte mehr gepflegt werden. Die Pfannen müssten dringend einmal erneuert werden. Der Geschirrspüler macht nicht sauber, es fehlen Salz und Klarspüler. Der Herd funktioniert nicht gut, wenn man mehrere Platten benutzt. Die Heizung im Bad reicht im Winter nicht aus.

Thank you for this feedback. We're paying attention to the interior design of the house. For example, a new bathroom vanity has been installed and the heating is also being addressed. The kitchen inventory will be replaced soon.
Dank voor deze feedback. De inrichting van de woning heeft onze aandacht. Zo is er een nieuw badmeubel geplaatst en heeft de verwarming onze aandacht. Het inventaris van de keuken wordt binnenkort vervangen.
