Giethoorn is also known as the 'Dutch Venice' and is located in the middle of the lake district of the Kop van Overijssel. From here, you can explore De Wieden nature reserve and De Weerribben national park. You can do this by bike or by electric whisper boat. The canals, with their characteristic little bridges 'vonders' and the thatched farmhouses standing on either side ensure that you will never forget Giethoorn.
