Near the park you will find the large Reestdal nature reserve, where you can enjoy a lovely walk or long cycle ride. Along the way, you will enjoy the beautiful Overijssel landscapes and its special picturesque villages. Just three kilometres from the holiday park, you will find recreational lake De Zwarte Dennen in the middle of the woods. Here you can sunbathe on the sandy beach and sunbathing area while your children enjoy themselves in the water and on the children's playground. A surprising holiday destination!

Relax on the rippling waterfront. Holiday park Reestervallei also has a modest outdoor swimming pool with sun loungers. Great for cooling off on hot summer days! There is also a paddling pool for the little ones.

Location and surroundings

IJhorst is a village in the municipality of Staphorst, where the stork is a familiar sight. The Ooievaarscentrum De Lokkerij was established in 1981 on the initiative of the Nature Conservancy to bring the stork back to the Dutch landscape. With results: the number of breeding pairs is still increasing! De Lokkerij is open for visits during the summer months, definitely worth a visit. The surroundings are easy to explore by bike or on foot: you will discover the Reest valley, the Zwarte Dennen or the Staphorst forestry. Surrounding towns such as Zwolle, Meppel, Hoogeveen and Steenwijk are also recommended: here you can enjoy a terrace, a museum, the many shops or a cosy restaurant.
