Location and surroundings

Oudemirdum is a small village, a stone's throw from the larger places Balk, Workum and Lemmer. In the immediate vicinity you will find Sybrandy's Speelpark, fun for young holidaymakers. In addition, the De Wyldemerk nature reserve is nearby, which lends itself well to long walking and cycling trips. In the surrounding area, you will find numerous lovely towns, such as the fortified town of Sloten, the harbour towns Workum and Hindeloopen, Stavoren, Bolsward and Sneek. All are great for a day of culture and perfect for learning about Frisian history. Do you prefer going into nature? Then the area around the Frisian Lakes is a must and here water sports are the order of the day.
