Holiday parc De Sikkenberg, pleasure for the whole family

Recreation Park de Sikkenberg is characterized by specifically catering to people who appreciate peace, nature, the countryside, reflection, and conviviality. Teenagers and young people making friends, children romping and exploring the playgrounds or watching the animals in the various enclosures with roaming chickens and peacocks in a relaxed atmosphere, and parents unwinding while enjoying a good book and a drink. There are also fun activities for sports enthusiasts, such as archery, volleyball, basketball, or ditch swinging. Additionally, interdenominational children's and youth activities and studies are organized during school holidays. All this in a lesser-known corner of the Netherlands. Onstwedde is located in the Westerwolde region in the south of the province of Groningen, on the border with Drenthe.

Recreation Park De Sikkenberg is a Christian family park featuring a laundromat where you can wash your dirty laundry. In the mini-supermarket on the park, you can purchase items such as coffee, tea, soft drinks, chips, sweets, sandwich spreads, and basic ingredients for a hot meal. There is a charging point for your electric bicycle(s) located on the park.

Hospitality

During the school holidays, you can visit Main Building de Eendekoel'n for a game of billiards or a bite to eat and a drink, but also for a snack or a delicious meal.

Sports and games

Recreation Park De Sikkenberg features various sports fields, including a volleyball and a basketball court. There is also a pétanque court. The holiday park has several play areas with fun climbing frames or a water playground. Additionally, a large inflatable air trampoline is regularly set up. During the summer holidays, the park hosts a recreation program led by an enthusiastic team, with a central focus on the Bible. There is also an animal enclosure featuring donkeys, geese, various types of chickens, goats, sheep, and ducks, among others.

Swimming

There is a nice outdoor swimming pool at the holiday park. You can visit a subtropical swimming paradise in Stadskanaal or Veendam.

Location and surroundings

As in many other parts of the Netherlands, you can make wonderful cycling or hiking trips in the area around Onstwedde. For the fishing enthusiast, there are also many beautiful fishing spots to discover: recommendations can be found on the small river De Ruiten AA. Delicious food and drink, view the most beautiful art creations and enjoy the beautiful nature? Take a look at the coffee and tea garden Zunneschien in Veenhuizen.
