De Kleine Westrik is a small-scale nature reserve with unique A-frame lodges, a food forest, and a vineyard amidst native nature and biodiversity.

De Kleine Westrik is not a traditional holiday park, but a unique nature reserve that emerged from a transition of 7 hectares of former farmland into a rich and vibrant landscape. A food forest has been established here with hundreds of native trees and thousands of shrubs, creating an increasingly robust ecosystem. In some places, so-called 'tiny woods' have been created: compact clusters of trees and shrubs that offer a safe shelter and habitat for birds and other animals. As a result, biodiversity has increased significantly in a short period of time.

Nestled within this natural landscape are three detached A-frame lodges, designed by us. These accommodations are unique and cannot be found anywhere else. They are more spacious than they appear in photos and offer a comfortable stay in the heart of nature. Additionally, a small vineyard has been planted with red and white grapes, giving the landscape an extra special character.

The area is deliberately not strictly maintained: no raked flowerbeds or uniform planting, but a dynamic landscape with grasses, edible plants, and seasonal flowers such as cornflowers, poppies, and daisies. The scenery changes with each season, depending on growth and weather conditions, making every visit feel different. Cars are parked centrally so that the tranquility and natural appearance around the lodges are preserved.

Location and surroundings

The charming Brabant village of Biest Houtakker is situated in a rural setting full of peace and greenery. The region is perfectly suited for beautiful cycling and walking tours along the Wilhelmina Canal and through the surrounding meadows. For a day full of action and adventure with the whole family, Safaripark Beekse Bergen is just a short distance away. Culture enthusiasts can visit the historic Koningshoeven Abbey in Berkel Enschot to discover local history. The lively town of Hilvarenbeek is also nearby for an afternoon of shopping or enjoying a drink on a terrace at the Vrijthof.
