The car-free park is located directly on the Markermeer where you can endlessly watch the passing sailing boats over the rippling water. Sustainability is of paramount importance here. You will stay in a sustainable ecolodge where the energy is generated with solar panels. This is also an ideal environment for water sports enthusiasts. For example, go kite surfing, take a nice sailing trip, or take a refreshing dip in the Markermeer.

From colourful bulb fields to historic cheese-cover farmhouses and from stately mills to vast meadows: the area around Wijdenes has it all. Fancy a break from the bustling city life? There is plenty to do in atmospheric cities such as Enkhuizen, Hoorn, Alkmaar and Medemblik. You can go shopping or enjoy a lovely outdoor café. Of course, all these places also have several nice restaurants to spoil yourself culinary. Would you like to know more about the fascinating history of this region? Then visit the Zuiderzee Museum or the Westfries Museum in Enkhuizen. A visit to the medieval Radboud Castle in Medemblik is also worthwhile.
