Ruinerwold is one of the villages in municipality De Wolden. The municipality offers plenty of peace and space in a typical Drenthe landscape, interspersed with woods, heathland, stream valleys and small-scale villages. There are no fewer than three national parks in the vicinity: Dwingelderveld, Drents-Friese Wold and National Park Weerribben-Wieden, where you can make excellent cycling and walking trips.
