Car-free, child-friendly holiday park with bicycle rental and playgrounds, in the middle of nature near the Drents-Friese Wold in Drenthe

General

The holiday park is car-free. Upon arrival and departure, you may park your car close to your holiday home to load and unload your luggage . Parking is only permitted on the park with a disabled parking permit, after consulting with reception. You can park your car in the central parking lot. Several charging stations for electric cars are available in the covered parking lot. You can also use the luggage carts free of charge. Free Wi-Fi is available in your accommodation. You can also contact reception for information, bicycle rentals, and a bread roll service. Reception is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. On Saturdays, reception is open from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Play facilities

There's plenty of fun for children at the park. Several playgrounds are spread throughout the grounds, including climbing frames and slides. There's also a large air trampoline and sports fields where children can play safely and freely.

Swimming

Opposite the park is a public outdoor swimming pool, which park guests can use free of charge during the summer season. Perfect for a refreshing dip on hot days.

Sports & recreation

For active guests, there are various sports and games facilities, including a volleyball court, a soccer field, table tennis tables, and a pétanque court. The immediate area is perfect for cycling and hiking through the Drents-Friese Wold. Bicycles and e-bikes are easily rented at the park.

Hoogersmilde, Drenthe

Be amazed by the many kilometres of cycle paths in Drenthe. They wind through dense coniferous and deciduous forests and vast heathlands or sand drifts, but also along forest lakes, megalithic tombs and through old authentic Drenthe villages. There are numerous possibilities for excursions in the area: there is the Museum Village of Orvelte, Wildlands Emmen, the Boomkroonpad in Borger and Remembrance Centre Camp Westerbork. Nearby is the Blauwe Meer, a large natural lake with a sandy beach. For a day of shopping, you can be in Assen, Meppel or Hoogeveen in no time. Besides Hoogersmilde, you can also go to the nearby villages of Diever or Oranje for a good restaurant or a cup of coffee on the terrace.
