Location and surroundings

Ameland is a Wadden Island with its own unique nature and culture, and is not called the Wadden Diamond for nothing. The island is 28 kilometers long and has an area of ​​273 km². The four villages, all of which have been declared protected village landscapes, are Hollum, Ballum, Nes, and Buren. Ameland offers a variety of flora and fauna, as well as stunning beaches and dunes. There are also many cozy restaurants, terraces, and beach pavilions for a nice drink or a delicious meal. In addition, there are museums to visit and countless sports and recreational activities available, including many water sports. Nes is the largest village on the island and also the place where you arrive by boat.
