Magnificent country house for 22 people overlooking the Wadden Sea, in the Friesian Wierum

Poutsma Staete estate in Wierum, Friesland, is a beautiful estate in a quiet, rural setting on the Wadden Sea. It offers wide views and is surrounded by a very spacious garden and water. The proximity to the Wadden Sea, including the Wadden dike, makes for a unique natural environment with opportunities for mudflats and delightful walks. The surrounding Frisian countryside consists of vast meadows and traditional villages. Nearby is the Lauwersmeer nature reserve and the Wadden Sea World Heritage Center in the port of Lauwersoog. The area offers plenty of opportunities for sailing and (sloop) sailing on the Lauwersmeer and the Wadden Sea, as well as sea fishing. It is a paradise for nature lovers and bird watchers. The estate combines tranquility, nature and an authentic Frisian atmosphere. The country house is a wonderful base for trips to Lauwersmeer National Park, Unesco's World Heritage Wadden Sea and the islands of Ameland and Schiermonnikoog.

This beautiful country house has a first floor, three floors and a basement (with washer and dryer). The living room is equipped with a sitting area (underfloor heating and central heating) and a television with streaming function (Apple TV). Bring your own Chromecast and connect it to the projector for a great movie night! The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, Quooker, kettle, large oven, two combination microwave ovens, grill, a Jura coffee bean machine as well as a filter coffee maker, a large six-burner gas hob and a dishwasher. There is also a large refrigerator/freezer in the utility room.

There are a total of 10 bedrooms spread over the first floor and three floors, five of which are en suite bedrooms.

First floor:

• One bedroom with two large single box-spring beds, a separate single bed and a spacious bathroom with one person whirlpool bath.

Second floor:

• A lounge with television.
• Four spacious bedrooms each with two single box-spring beds, private bathroom and toilet.
• One bedroom with two single box-spring beds and a single bed.
• A very spacious bathroom with two person whirlpool bath, a shower and toilet.

Second floor:

• One bedroom with two single box-spring beds.
• Two semi-open bedrooms (screened with folding screens from the main lounge) each with two single beds.
• A kitchen with microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator.

Third floor:

• One bedroom with a comfortable double four-poster bed.
• A wadden lounge with a truly fantastic view of the Wadden Sea and the islands of Ameland and Schiermonnikoog.
• Between the living room on the first floor and the outdoor terrace is an enclosed conservatory/outdoor canopy with ample garden furniture. There are more than enough parking spaces available. The spacious lawn garden is ideal for various outdoor activities and ball games.
