The Westerwolde area invites you to explore: stroll through the Sellingerbos woods, visit the fortified village of Bourtange, or savor regional products in one of the charming villages nearby. At the park itself, you can swim, sail, or simply relax at Emslandermeer lake. Everything for a comfortable and diverse holiday with your group.

Location and surroundings

Vlagtwedde, Groningen

Located just across the Drenthe border you will find the beautiful surroundings of Vlagtwedde: an ideal base for wonderful walking and cycling tours. Explore the watery area by canoe or spend a day shopping in the lively student city of Groningen. A visit to the historic fortified town of Bourtange is also possible and highly recommended. For children there is also plenty to do in the area. Think for example of Wildlands in Emmen or Plopsaland Indoor in Coevorden. There are also several museums nearby: visit, among others, the Prison Museum in Veenhuizen, the Hunebedcentrum in Borger, the Remembrance Center Camp Westerbork or Museum Village Orvelte.
