Aardenburg is a cozy and historic town, it is surrounded by a vast landscape of dikes, polders and creeks which is formed by centuries of flooding, land reclamation and dike breaches and an increasing agricultural activity. Because these features are visible everywhere it has been declared a National Landscape. In short, a fantastic environment for long bike rides and beautiful walks. It is also an excellent base for a day trip to Belgium to visit, for example, Bruges, Gent, Antwerp or the fashionable Knokke.
