Nederhorst den Berg is a picturesque village on the river Vecht. The eye-catcher here is Nederhorst Castle, also known as “Bommelstein”, the castle from Lord Bommel's stories. Originally built around 1300, it is surrounded by a moat and beautiful gardens. Also worth seeing is the historic church street with 17-century national monuments. For nature lovers, there are plenty of cycling and walking routes along the Vecht and through the surrounding polder landscape. Beautiful, atmospheric, clean house where EVERYTHING is present. Angélique and Edward are super nice and very helpful. They had tips for the area and provided help where needed. They even drove us to the supermarket! In short, a highly recommended holiday destination. We felt right at home there.
