Beautiful 4-person half-timbered house, in the picturesque Geul valley in South Limburg

This beautiful holiday home for four is part of a nostalgic, centuries-old farm. Located near the hills in a five-star award-winning natural landscape, this property is in the middle of the beautiful Geul valley. It is an excellent place to relax or explore the surrounding area by hiking and cycling. If you are looking for a nice trip, Belgium is just 5 kilometres away, and the German Eifel can be reached within 10 kilometres. In the village, at walking distance from the house, you can rent bikes, and at the house there is the possibility of charging electric bicycles.

The living room features comfortable furniture, an open fireplace and a dining area. The adjacent kitchen is equipped with modern appliances, including a fridge, combination microwave oven, coffee machine, Senseo coffee machine, kettle and hob. Upstairs are two bedrooms: one with two single box-spring beds (90x200cm) and the other with two single box-spring beds (90x210cm) as well. The bathroom is on the ground floor and has a shower cubicle and toilet. The courtyard garden is communal and shared with two other holiday homes.

Location and surroundings

Mechelen, Limburg

Mechelen is a picturesque village in South Limburg, where the surrounding area is extremely good for cycling and walking. With many wayside crosses and chapels, it has a charm all of its own. The river Geul has been meandering through the Geul valley here for centuries. Enjoy the blossoming orchards in spring, the warm summer evenings, the beautiful autumn colours and beautifully snow-covered meadows in winter. The village also has a bakery, a convenience store and some nice restaurants. Visit several museums in the area, such as the Bonnefantenmuseum or the Natural History Museum in Maastricht. There are also interesting museums to visit in Vaals and Heerlen.

We had a wonderful holiday in a fully equipped cottage. The stairs were steep, but that was also mentioned in the description.

Positive. Sharing a garden without a view with other guests was a bit disappointing. Nice cottage. Well-equipped. Toilet and shower behind one door for 4 people wasn't ideal. Wonderfully peaceful surroundings.
Excellent
