Hooghalen is surrounded by four nature reserves where you can take beautiful walks and cycling trips. Besides the vast landscapes with forests, heath and meadows, you will find several dolmens nearby. Remembrance Centre Camp Westerbork, Museum Village Orvelte and the Drents Museum in Assen are just a stone's throw away. All definitely worth a visit. If you are looking for a day of thrills, Outdoor Klimpark Grolloo or the Drouwenerzand amusement park are just the place to be. Want a day of shopping?
