Location and surroundings
South Holland's Herkingen is a village in the municipality of Goeree-Overflakkee. Surrounded by a landscape of vast meadows and located on the water with a large harbour, there is plenty to do nearby. Go windsurfing and sunbathing on the beach or take a beautiful bike ride across the island. There are also several fun trips to make in the area. Go to the Kinderdijk in the Alblasserwaard, which is known worldwide for its authentic windmills from the 18th century or visit Deltapark Neeltje Jans and learn how it is ensured that we keep our feet dry in the Netherlands. For a great day's shopping, head to Rotterdam, which also has many museums and great places to eat out.
