Comfortable 6-person chalet with veranda at a family campsite in Zeeland

You'll be staying in this comfortably furnished six-person chalet at the Duinhoeve family campsite in Burgh-Haamstede. The covered veranda is a lovely place to relax together, overlooking the playground equipment where children can have fun. Inside, you'll find a practical layout with a cozy sitting area, an open-plan kitchen, and three bedrooms, the master bedroom of which has a double bed and a television.

The campsite offers extensive facilities, including a water playground, entertainment, a mini cinema, indoor and outdoor playgrounds, electric car charging stations, and bicycle rentals. For added convenience, there's a supermarket, restaurant, snack bar, and laundromat. The beach, dunes, and Burgh-Haamstede town center are just a short distance away, making this chalet an ideal base for families.

Location and surroundings

Burgh-Haamstede, Zeeland
From Burgh-Haamstede, the whole of Schouwen-Duiveland is actually at your feet. Burgh and Haamstede were once independent villages, but have grown together to form a tourist resort. In the village, you will find the more than 50-metre-high Westerlichttoren lighthouse. Built in 1837, it is one of the largest lighthouses in the Netherlands. Definitely worth a visit! From here, authentic Zierikzee, popular Renesse and historical Bruinisse (also known as the mussel village) are also highly recommended and easy to reach. Prefer a day of culture? Then visit Deltapark Neeltje Jans or the Watersnoodmuseum in Ouwerkerk; both also very interesting.

Unfortunately, there was still rubbish under the beds and it was very dusty. The toilet seat was loose, there was no hand soap, and only one roll of toilet paper for six people for two and a half days. There was no baking paper for the oven, and with the chalet fully occupied by six people, the dish soap and dishwasher tablets were insufficient. It would be helpful to have mosquito nets on the windows and patio door for the summer season. Despite this, we really enjoyed our stay and would book the chalet again. The location and the campsite are fantastic. The campsite is very clean, and the water playground is great for children. The small supermarket covers everyday needs.
