Villapark Schildmeer is a beautiful, small-scale holiday park situated on the beautiful, large Schildmeer lake. From mid-April to mid-October, you can book your accommodation with a private sloop. This way, you can enjoy the stunning scenery and calm waters to the fullest. Take breathtaking nature walks, have breakfast on the water, or cast your line. The sloop offers plenty of freedom and opportunities to guarantee optimal relaxation during your holiday. Do you enjoy an active round of golf during your holiday? The holiday park is located next to one of the largest golf courses in the Northern Netherlands, Duurswold. Villapark Schildmeer offers holiday homes for four to eight people.

Particularities
- The park may require a deposit of €50 to €500 per person on-site, depending on the size of your group. Please keep this in mind when making your reservation.
- The interior/exterior of the accommodations may vary.
- From April 26th until the end of October, you can use your own sloop for free! (Excluding service and instruction fees, which include fuel).

At Villapark Schildmeer, you'll want for nothing. You can explore the landscaped beach, the fishing pond, and the laundry facilities. Bringing your own boat? You can launch it at the designated boat ramp or use the boat crane. You can moor your boat at the marina.
Rental
Villapark Schildmeer offers a wide range of rental options. You can rent a bike to explore the beautiful surroundings, or take advantage of the (sailing) boat, surfboard, and water sports rentals.
Children and sports and games
Children can fully enjoy all the activities in and around the park. They won't be bored for a single day. What more could your child need than a fishing rod and a pond for fishing? Or a playground with fun equipment where they can quickly meet their peers? During peak season, the villa park offers a recreation program for all ages, guaranteeing hours of fun. For the more active among us, there are several sports fields, including a basketball court and a table tennis table.

Location and surroundings
In Steendam you are really close to the Wadden Sea and thus close to the Wadden Islands. Have a unique experience and go mudflat hiking! Be accompanied over the mud flats by an experienced guide and learn all about the Dutch seabed. It is even possible to make a crossing on foot to (one of the) Wadden Islands. A short drive (and bike ride) away are historic Appingedam and port city Delfzijl, both incredibly different but really worth a visit. A little further away, but also very interesting is the seal center Pieterburen. For a day of culture sniffing, the city of Groningen is a must-see. With all its terraces, restaurants, stores, parks and museums perfect for a day out!
