Especially the quiet location and the space in the house. August 2026 5,3 ![nl](https://www.heerlijkehuisjes.com/assets/img/frontend-v3/flags/nl.svg) Cees Verweij Show original Show translation The cottage had everything and the surroundings were beautiful. The cottage was dated and not clean. It smelled very musty, and in our bedroom, the large one, there was even mold on the left window. There were cobwebs and daddy longlegs everywhere. The refrigerator was also filthy with fruit flies. The surroundings made up for a lot, but the house was inadequate due to the hygiene. Owner's response: Thank you for your review. We apologize that the cottage was not as clean as you might have expected upon arrival. Unfortunately, due to a change of cleaner, not everything went smoothly; we are now paying extra attention to this. We would like to clarify that what appears to be mold at the bedroom window is not mold. The double-glazed window is leaking, causing condensation to form between the panes. The window will be replaced in due course. The cottage dates from the 1970s and is not a new or luxury holiday home. Consequently, signs of use and age are visible in some places, such as discoloration in the freezer compartment. This is not dirt. Naturally, we take your comments regarding the cleaning to heart. We hope that, despite these points, you look back fondly on your stay and the beautiful surroundings of the Achterhoek.
