The 17th-century village is centrally located in North Holland and is also next to the Unesco World Heritage Site the Beemster. There are many possibilities when you want a day out. For example, go to the Zaanse Schans, a unique neighborhood with working windmills, old crafts, beautiful green wooden houses and special museums. Volendam is also worth a visit, a beautiful village with traditional costumes, music and fish. Furthermore, you can visit cities like Alkmaar, Amsterdam and Hoorn. The IJsselmeer, the North Sea and the beautiful dunes are also nearby.

We had our bikes with us and headed out every day; partly due to the park's location, we saw a great deal. Including Volendam, the Cheese Market, Bergen aan Zee, Egmond aan Zee, the Zaanse Schans, Edam-Volendam, and Castricum. When you returned late in the afternoon after cycling about 60 km, it was lovely to relax under the canopy at the accommodation. Moreover, it was wonderfully quiet and relaxed.
