West-Graftdijk, North-Holland
West Graftdijk is surrounded by a characteristic polder landscape, ideal if you want to get away from it all and enjoy peace and nature. The 17th-century village is centrally located in North Holland and is also next to the Unesco World Heritage Site the Beemster. There are many possibilities when you want a day out. For example, go to the Zaanse Schans, a unique neighborhood with working windmills, old crafts, beautiful green wooden houses and special museums. Volendam is also worth a visit, a beautiful village with traditional costumes, music and fish. Furthermore, you can visit cities like Alkmaar, Amsterdam and Hoorn. The IJsselmeer, the North Sea and the beautiful dunes are also nearby.

The very relaxed and always beautiful West Holland is diverse and always worth a visit. The unique location and landscape were perfect for us, but next time we'll bring plug-in mosquito traps. We had real problems with the children's inflamed, almost allergic bites. I'll be sure to take precautions. It's really easy to be self-sufficient and healthy. The rental bikes cost €15 per day and really changed your perspective there.
