Cozy 4-person cabin with bed box and fireplace on park near 3 nature reserves
For those looking for peace, nature and a unique place to spend the night, this four-person plaggenhut is a special experience. You will sleep in a cozy box bed, eat at a robust oak table and enjoy the soft light of an authentic oil lamp. Outside, a private terrace with fireplace awaits you, overlooking the Drenthe meadows.
The house is practically furnished with a compact kitchen, modern bathroom and cozy sitting area with television. Thanks to central heating and good insulation, it is comfortable here in any season. The couch in the living room can easily be converted into two single beds.
This house is on a small vacation park with a young vineyard and the Sommelier Wine & Spice Experience. Children can have fun in the playground or with the farm animals. The location between three national parks makes this the perfect base for nature lovers. Attractive Giethoorn is also within biking distance.

- Use of 10m3 gas is included, more consumption will be charged and can be paid in cash on departure.
- This property has one parking space. An additional car costs EUR 2 per day per car.
- In the period 19 December 2025 to 2 January 2026, this property can only be booked per week from Saturday to Saturday. If you book in this period with different changeover days, the date will be manually adjusted on your invoice from Saturday to Saturday.

Ruinerwold is one of the villages in municipality De Wolden. The municipality offers plenty of peace and space in a typical Drenthe landscape, interspersed with woods, heathland, stream valleys and small-scale villages. There are no fewer than three national parks in the vicinity: Dwingelderveld, Drents-Friese Wold and National Park Weerribben-Wieden, where you can make excellent cycling and walking trips. From Ruinerwold, many different excursions are possible: you can sail a boat in Giethoorn, visit megalithic tombs in Havelte or go on an adventure with the children at the Drentse Koe farm. A day of shopping? In the cosy towns of Steenwijk, Hoogeveen or Meppel, you are in the right place.

Unfortunately, the cottage didn't have a fenced garden—luckily, I was able to make one myself. The gravel path and especially the grates leading to the front door make it less suitable for dogs. Painful for their paws. Otherwise, it's clean. The kitchen utensils leave much to be desired. A good frying pan, coffee maker, and more complete cutlery would be nice. The box bed is okay.
Huisje had helaas geen omheinde tuin - gelukkig kon ik deze zelf ietwat fabriceren. Door grindpad en met name grondroosters naar de voordeur minder geschikt voor honden. Pijnlijk voor de pootjes. Verder schoon. Keukengerei laat te wensen over. Een goede hapjespan, koffiezetapparaat, en wat completer bestek zou fijn zijn. Bedstee OK.

We're sorry to hear the kitchen utensils aren't complete. We didn't hear anything about this during your stay. The sod hut is perfectly suitable for pets, but you must always keep them on a leash at our park. We hope to see you again soon.
Wat jammer te horen dat het keukengerei niet compleet is, hier hebben wij niets van u te horen gekregen tijdens uw verblijf. de plaggenhut is prima geschikt voor huisdieren echter u dient ze altijd aangelijnd te laten op ons park. Graag tot een volgende keer op ons park.

It was a lovely, cozy cottage. The surroundings are beautiful. However, it's difficult to take the dog for a short walk close to the cottage. You have to drive about 10 minutes to walk in a beautiful nature reserve.
Het was een fijn en knus huisje.
De omgeving is prachtig.
Alleen vlak bij het huisje is lastig om een klein rondje met de hond te wandelen.
Je moet even een minuut of 10 met de auto om in een mooi natuurgebied te kunnen wandelen.
