Burgh-Haamstede, Zeeland
From Burgh-Haamstede, the whole of Schouwen-Duiveland is actually at your feet. Burgh and Haamstede were once independent villages, but have grown together to form a tourist resort. In the village, you will find the more than 50-metre-high Westerlichttoren lighthouse. Built in 1837, it is one of the largest lighthouses in the Netherlands. Definitely worth a visit! From here, authentic Zierikzee, popular Renesse and historical Bruinisse (also known as the mussel village) are also highly recommended and easy to reach. Prefer a day of culture? Then visit Deltapark Neeltje Jans or the Watersnoodmuseum in Ouwerkerk; both also very interesting.

A lovely, large, comfortable house, very peacefully situated in beautiful surroundings with a large, perfectly enclosed garden. We and our two dogs had a fantastic week and plan to return in the spring. Highly recommended!

A wonderful stay in a wooded setting where fallow deer forage nearby. The bedrooms and bathrooms are excellent, as is the spacious garden in front of the holiday home. Ideal for children or to enjoy the peace and quiet.
Een prima verblijf in een bosrijke omgeving waar de damherten fourageren in de directe nabijheid. Slaap- en badkamers uitstekend, evenals de riante tuin voor het vakantiehuis. Ideaal voor de kinderen of om te kunnen genieten van de rust.

The blinds didn't work, and we were advised against using them under threat of a fine. Therefore, the downstairs bedroom wasn't usable for us, but it was necessary because our dog doesn't like being left alone and doesn't like going up stairs. Very bad! Die Jalousien funktionierten nicht und es wurde unter Kostenandrohung davon abgeraten, diese zu nutzen. Daher war das Schlafzimmer unten für uns nicht nutzbar, aber notwendig, da unser Hund nicht gern allein bleibt und keine Stufen geht. Sehr schlecht! Der Ton in deutsch im Heft ist ziemlich heftig! Die Räume waren nicht wirklich sauber. ...

Thank you for your review. It's frustrating that the house wasn't clean upon arrival. We would have liked to have known about this on the day of arrival so we could have resolved it for you immediately. We also find it frustrating that you couldn't use the ground floor bedroom. While there are blackout blinds, we now understand that this wasn't sufficient for you. We would have liked to have contacted you during your stay to find a solution.
